About Gregory

It’s a commonly known fact that the best way to get to know a fellow properly is to visit a public house with him/her, and spend a significant amout of time enjoying the products offered at said establishment. However, because this is the internet and devoid of any real social interaction, you’ll have to do with a few basics and some Top–5 lists.

I design websites at Erskine Design in Nottingham and I like all the usual things, as long as the things are relatively under the radar. I wake up on Monday mornings with a feeling of excitement, and I spend Sunday evenings exploding people’s heads with an AK47. The two aren’t connected.

About this website

This site is mine. You may be reading/enjoying/leaving it, but it’s mine, and if I want to go all Spinal tap on it’s arse, then I will. Don’t complain.

It’s coded almost cleanly using Web Standards. Web standards are like magic; you buy a WS100 headset, attached one end to your forehead, the other to the computer, think very hard, and then voila! – a nice new website.

I designed it using equal measures of the classicly British ingredients of common sense and eccentricity. It’s a design that’s constantly evolving as a result of tastes, technologies and my low bordom-threshold.

Of the five or so iterations of this site, this is the third version that won’t make your eyes bleed:

Version 4 of greg-wood.co.uk Version four (2006) was loving a bit of Futura, had some nice CSS layout tecniques going on, and was how I initially fell in love with EE.

Version 3 of greg-wood.co.uk Number three (2005) featured a tree for no other reason other than the fact that trees look nice in pink. I learnt CSS properly building it.
